Summer Workshop 1996

Is there a listserv for the neighbor island travelers?

The listserv, freqflyr-l@kalama.doe.hawaii.edu, has been created for the neighbor island particiapnts. If you are a neighbor island HERN participant and would like to be on this list, please send a message to Margaret Miura (msymiura@hawaii.edu).

Per Diem?

Workshop: Regardless of how much or how little you spend during the two weeks, all neighbor island participants accepted to attend the HERN Summer Workshop shall receive an equal amount. Advances for travel funds are not available.

Receipts: Initially HERN required all of you to submit your original receipts. Although, HERN is not required at this time to collect it.

DOE Travel Forms: DOE participants are directed to use the Travel Request Report and Travel Completion Report forms provided by the Research Corporation of the University of Hawaii (RCUH). Everyone shall complete the forms together during the Summer Workshop. Blank forms will be available.

UH Travel Forms: University of Hawaii employees including the community colleges are directed to use the forms provided by the University. Everyone shall complete the forms together during the Summer Workshop. Blank forms will be available.

If your Personnel Office requires you to complete any other form for their records, you should follow their procedures as well.

Is there group lodging or discount rates for those attending the HERN Summer Workshop?

Initial tally of travelers interested in group housing were not enough to secure a group rate. All travelers are directed to make and secure their own lodging and ground transporation. Full payment of expenses are the responsibility of each traveler.
