| The Electronic Collaborative Educational Learning Laboratory (ECELL) is an Enrichment Summer School aimed at developing students' information age skills in a technology rich environment. Students will learn to use networks and information technologies, including the World Wide Web, to formulate questions, collaborate with others, conduct research, draw conclusions and to act on real-world issues/problems. Students will have an opportunity to work with the Department of Education's most innovative educators and the College of Education's Masters for Education in Teaching Program (MET). |

| MINDSPACE
II - The Quest Continues
In this nationally recognized and award winning class from last summer, students will chart their own course through the unexplored territory of their own mind. Learn to search, evaluate, validate, online information then share your findings with others as you design and construct a website. Students will learn reasearch strategies by working with online, print, and other media, as well as interviews. They will learn the principles of web design via models, critiques, and construction of their own websites.

PHAT! Da Bomb!
What's COOL? What's PHAT? What's Da Bomb? Explore the "in" things of the pre-teen generation and be ready to answer the question -- "is being cool da bomb?" This class integrates social studies, health science, Language Arts, and technology in an inquiry of fads, styles, and trends to assist students in making appropriate decisions for themselves.

IN PARADISE
The exciting and important role of tourism in Hawai`i serves as the subject of this inquiry project. Students will create their own "tour packages" to take our island visitors on. Students will create innovative multimedia products as part of their research and project design. This clas integrates social studies, science, health and nutrition, and technology.

| HISTORY
IN THE MAKING!
Based on "Inventions, Discoveries, and Technology in History" - the 1999 History Day Theme, students will complete an inquiry project on a scientific invention or discovery of their choice to research how it has affected people in the past and predict how it can affect people in the future. Students will use computers to acquire, organize, and present information via word processing, multimedia slide shows, e-mail, and the world wide web in this class that inegrates social studies, language arts, math, and science.

BRIDGE IN TIME - AIEA'S TIME CAPSULE PROJECT
Students will take an exciting and provacative historical journey of Aiea through time. Students will use a wealth of resources to do an inquiry project comparing the Aiea of "yesteryear" to the present and to make predictions of Aiea's future in the 21st Century. Students will learn how to electronically record and share their results for others. This authentic learning experience will integrate geography, social studies, language arts, math, and technology.

WORLD OF SPORTS
Students will get a hands on experience with different sports from around the world and will increase their understanding and awareness of world cultures. Students will use the internet, e-mail, video, spreadsheets, and multi-media in this inquiry class which integrates social studies, science, math, language arts, fine arts, and technology.

The ways and means of students will be limited only by their imaginations. This course provides students with a hands-on experience and interactions with experts and other students and teachers providing a unique and valuable learning experience. IDEAS INTO PROFITS
What are the 7 M's of production? Let's start with "Money", "Machines", and "Manpower"... then let's add in "Management", "Market", "Materials", and "Methods". Students will investigate and start a student run business. They will investigate careers through the Internet and e-mail. Students will learn that successful entrpreneurs have plans for turning ideas into profits. This class will integrate social studies, math, science, language arts, art and technology.

LIVES OF HAWAI`I MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Students will make connections between their own lives and those of other adolescents through a video-technology based course. Students will learn technical skills and processes related to video production and will produce and analyze videos to better understand their moivations and important factors in their lives.

VIDEO
Students will learn techniques of video production and multimedia use through collaborative, integrated, and interdisciplinary projects. Students must be highly motivated and self-directed. This class will be based at Moanalua High School but will include numerous field trips to ECELL sites and other locations for filming and production. |
