robots, rockets and stars
People have always been fascinated with the heavens, and our quest for knowledge has only grown more fascinating with time. In this course, we start with the basics--observation of the sky and a study of the physics of space. Next, we'll push on to the beginnings of space exploration, including rocketry, and pose the question 'What do we do once we're in space?' To answer this question, students will investigate how people live in space and grapple with robotry similar to that used by astronauts today. Finally, we will explore where to go from here, or "What is the future of space exploration?"

Roller Coastering Through Einstein's Mind - Amusement Park Physics
Have you ever wondered why you feel like vomitting after extreme changes in altitude? Would you believe that it's all in your head? Did you ever think it had something to do with how the rides were designed and work? Hi, I'm Ralph and I'll be your site guide. Mr. Chuck Up and Big Barf will also assist. We plan to inquire into the physical concepts and design behind amusement park rides such as rollercoasters, water slides, free fall, bumper cars, etc. Students can make a video production, website, working model, power point or hyperstudio presentations based on their findings.
