Middle School Students

Problem: What careers and jobs are students aiming towards? What kind of classes would this profession require?

Hypothesis: Our group thinks that the career that most of the students are aiming towards involve computers and those that help people and animals. Such as vets, doctors, pediatricians, engineers, and so on.

Procedure

Step 1: We thougth of a problem in a form of a question.

Stet 2: We surveyed students from E-mail, asked our class in the "question of the day", conduct I-search, and asked the "Turning Ideas into profits" class both first and second period.

Step 3: Graph the data of the survey

Setp 4: Figured out the data of the graph to see what career or job middle school students are aiming toward most and what classes their profession would require.

Observation

When we surveyed students on our survey question ("What careers and jobs are students aiming towards? What classes would this profession require?") we discovered that majority of the students wanted to become doctors or pediatricians and go to medical school. The second most common career of job students picked was to become a lawyer and go to law school.

Conclusion

As a result of our survey, we found out that most of the students that we surveyed wanted to become a pediatrician. The second most popular job or career was a lawyer. Our hypothesis was correct because we guessed that the career that most students are aiming for would involve computers, helping people, and animals.

Proposal

We did this video to inform teachers of what kind of professions of which their students are interested. This would benefit both the students and the teachers. Knowing what kind of careers their students are in would benefit the teachers by allowing them to customize their classes. The students should also be able to pick what classes they want to be in so that they'll be better prepared for their career choice.
