Requirements:
TEN (10) week course, begins May 24 through July 30, 2004. Two interim exams and a final exam on campus as arranged. Off-island students take exams at a community college testing center or other location proposed by the student and subject to approval. Exams are drawing-type (no essay, multiple choice, etc.)

Description:
A very first course in drafting. Manual drafting procedures and standards, plus a glimpse at computer drafting. Designed primarily for students planning to enroll in the regular program Architectural, Engineering and CAD Technologies (AEC) program upon completion of the course. Also serves students preparing to be public school industrial arts teachers and those interested in a general "feel" for the subject of technical drawing. An online course.

REQUIRED SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT:

Minimum ten 9X12 mailing envelopes and postal stamps, plus items listed and pictured at www.hcc.hawaii.edu/aec/equipment.htm
Drafting items available from drafting/art supplier, large office supplier, or college bookstore. Cost is approximately $200.
Technical Requirements: Online course allow students to take a course via computer technology and the Internet. It is recommended that if you register for an online course, you must feel comfortable using a computer and familiar with the Internet.

Computer Requirement:
A computer with at least 32 MB and minimum 200mhz recommended. If your machine is not already connected to a network and has an IP address, you need a modem to dial into your campus modem pool or an Internet Service Provider to obtain an IP address and to be connected to the Internet. You should have at least a 28.8 – kbps modem. You will need a browser to allow you to view the WWW (e.g. Netscape, Internet Explorer)
