| Course Description: | An introductory course to the world of micro-organisms, with emphasis on bacteria, but including algae, fungi, protozoa, and viruses; their structure, growth and development, reproduction, and classification; and their effects on people and their environment. Also included are slected topics in medical microbiology, immunology, and applied microbiology including food, industrial, sanitation, and public health microbiology. | |

| Technical Requirements: | Cable allows student to take course from their home by tuning into their local educational cable access channel. Cable courses are either “live” or pre-recorded. To take a cable course, students must be cable subscribers to either Oceanic Cable or Craig TV. If students reside in a region of their county that is unable to receive the educational cable access channel listed above, the student should not register for this course via cable.
